Picking a Plan

What to do, what to do?  For me, the hardest part of weight loss is the same as the hardest part of virtually anything…taking the first step.  The next hardest thing is sticking with it.  But, let’s just focus on step one for now.

And, weight loss is even trickier.  There around hundreds (if not thousands) of plans and products out there which promise that they are “easy to follow,” will show “quick results”…blah, blah, blah.

I have tried most of them…Weight Watchers (been there, didn’t stick with it), Adkins (oh, how I love carbs), Nutisystem (got sick of that food quick)…the list goes on and on.

But, the basis of all these plans is pretty simple…eat less calories than you burn and you will lose weight…in theory.

So, in choosing a plan to follow, I have to consider the following things:

1.       I am a planner (some might say a control freak) by nature.  I like having clear instructions, lists to check off, and a spreadsheet to track my progress.

2.       Lately I have been doing a lot of thinking about what exactly is in my food.  Sure candy and chips and fast food taste great, but when you start reading labels things get a little scary.  Should I really be putting things in my body if I can’t pronounce them?  (Ok…I can’t really pronounce quinoa either.)  Even worse if the substance doesn’t naturally occur on this planet.

3.       In has to be cheap…I’m pretty sick of paying for weight loss products.

So, my first goal is to finish Jamie Eason’s LiveFit 12-Week Trainer program.

You can find the details here for FREE:

The plan looks a little intimidating…lots of weight-training exercises I have never done before and a very limited list of foods (compared to my current refined sugar and chemical laced diet), but here goes nothing.
